Chances are you will always find a light on at Tamarind. Student printers work long hours to complete increasingly challenging training exercises; apprentice printers work with the master printer to realize complex editions and research projects. Visiting artists are in the workshop beginning collaborations that will bring some new measure of possibility to the medium of collaborative printmaking. Our gallery is open to the public Tuesday-Friday, featuring artists talks and new editions, as well as site-specific murals by resident artists.
Tamarind recently completed a series of brief video segments with our printers, illuminating some of the daily triumphs and long-term goals of the student printers. We invite you to watch and imagine the possibilities of supporting this training program--the only one of its kind in the world.
If you plan to contribute to the arts or education this year, please consider a gift to Tamarind Institute. Your contribution funds international and domestic scholarships for student printers to pursue an intensive one-year training program; your contribution provides workshop supplies and supports student research; your contribution enriches the New Mexico arts community as a whole, bringing visiting artists, printers, and scholars to Tamarind to lecture and teach and share their expertise. These are the programs that enrich Tamarind--and all those who pass through our workshop.
