ARTIST

Carolyn Brady

1937—2005

Born in Cbickasha, Oklahoma.

Primarily a watercolorist, Carolyn Brady in her lithographs displays a remarkable sensitivity to the medium. While carefully rendering complex compositions of light, shadow, and the patterns of everyday objects, Brady consciously introduces subtle distortions that transform the traditional still life into an image which she considers "almost absstract." Equally effective in transparent color and in black and white, these images maintain a formal sensibility and a quiet yet captivating presence.
