Abel Barroso

b. 1971

Born in Pinar del Río, Cuba, Barroso currently lives and works in La Habana, Cuba. He studied at the Instituto Superior de Arte, La Habana; and the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas, La Habana.

Barroso is the recipient of numerous awards, and his work can be found in public collections such as the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; Blanton Museum at the University of Texas; The University of Arizona Museum of Art, Phoenix; Graphic Museum, Schreiner Foundation, Bad Steben, Germany; Centro de Estudios Cubanos, New York; Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes. La Habana, Cuba; Centro de Desarrollo de las Artes Visuales, La Habana, Cuba; Bacardi Foundation, Miami, Florida; and the National Federal Reserve Collection, Washington, DC.
