These monotypes came from a painting called Home of the Brave I made in 1998 which paid homage to Betsy Ross, designer of the American flag.  The image of the American flag represents a place that appears to be a potential home but now functions as a barrier on the country's borders.  This work originated in my discovery of a raft on the beach in Florida in 1995.  Each star deserves individual attention and will eventually reflect the inherent diversity of this place.
