General Shipping Information

Tamarind ships its lithographs unframed and flat. We use acid-free paper to to pack your art, and then ship between two pieces of cardboard and Masonite, sealed with duct tape. This ensures your print arrives dry and safe. In some cases, for example when a print is especially large, we will roll the print and ship it in a tube. Though we use archival materials, your print should be unwrapped upon arrival, especially if the print has been rolled.

We ship using FedEx, with a signature required for deliver. If you need to make special delivery arrangements, please let us know.

Tamarind’s lithographs are sold unframed, as shipping a framed print is not recommended. However, Tamarind will ship directly to a framer of your choice. A professional framer should know how to safely frame your work on paper, but here are a couple of tips to keep your print safe for many years. Make sure your framer uses only acid-free materials (for the backing, matting, and hinging), and glass or Plexiglas with ultra-vlet filtering. Also, to keep condensation from collecting on your print, the print should be mounted inside of a window mat, or inside a frame with a spacer. Both options will hold the artwork away from the glass or Plexiglas.

If you have additional questions about framing your new lithograph, please give us a call.

Unless the print is damaged during shipping, Tamarind cannot accept returns.
