Studio Art 579.011
TUESDAYS: 2:00 – 5:00 PM

This studio course is designed to simulate the professional artist-printer relationship in the collaborative printmaking workshop. Students will be expected to explore their ideas and develop imagery in the context of the unique possibilities of the medium of lithography. Artist participants, selected from any major or discipline, will collaborate with student printers at Tamarind. No technical knowledge of lithography is necessary, but artists should expect to spend several hours in the workshop outside of the scheduled class time. Artists will work in close cooperation with different Tamarind printers on three projects. Enrollment is limited to eight students. If interested please submit a brief artist statement and pdf of 10 images to Brandon Gunn and Karsten Creightney (gunnb@unm.edu kcc1@unm.edu) with the subject “Tamarind Collaborative Class.”

Deadline for submissions is November 5.
