Jeffrey Gibson is a Mississippi Choctaw-Cherokee multi-disciplinary artist, working with subject matter which, by his own description, interfaces with the rubrics of fashion, gender and ethnicity. He has recently had solo exhibitions at museums such as the Seattle Art Museum, Madison Museum of Art, Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, MA, and Denver Art Museum. He has been included in group exhibitions at institutions such as the Museum of Contemporary Art in Denver, CO, Crystal Bridges in Bentonville, AK, Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA, and SITE Santa Fe, NM.
Gibson who currently lives in Hudson, NY, will do his first residency at Tamarind Institute this fall.
