Little Square, Red Cylinder, 1999
Acrylic on canvas (framed)

Donated by the artist

Born in Greeneville, Tennessee.

Artist Page Coleman earned her BFA in Painting and Printmaking at Virginia Commonwealth University and her MFA in Painting at University of Wisconsin, Madison. In 1981, Page moved to New Mexico, inspired by a postcard from a friend and has lived there ever since (almost). Coleman paints mostly abstract landscapes using her strong sense of color relationships and layers of color to create, for the viewer, a sense of place, a visual pulse in an “other world” sort of way.  Aside from being a professional studio artist, Coleman has also taught studio art and History of Women Artist classes, juried numerous art competitions and owned and curated Coleman Gallery that promoted mostly abstract art by New Mexico artists. Honors include Bravos Award “Excellence in Visual Art”/Albuquerque Arts Alliance, Artist in Residence/New Mexico Arts Division and New Mexico Art in Public Places Purchase Initiative.
