A self-taught artist, Timothy Cummings is widely regarded for his extraordinary skill as a painter, and his intricately patterned, elaborately costumed, and psychologically charged narratives. His work borrows equally from pop culture, traditional portraiture, and Northern European Old Master painting, bringing a curious beauty to his androgynous and mercurial subjects.
Cummings was raised in New Mexico, but spent the past two decades in the San Francisco Bay Area. He returned to Albuquerque in 2014, and currently lives and works in Corrales, New Mexico.
