David Row

b. 1949 in Portland, Maine; lives in New York, New York


 

David Row has collaborated with Tamarind over a period of two decades. The lithographs trace an arc through his work as a painter/printmaker, as a Tamarind artist who has taken part in six residencies, the work ranges from gestural to geometric precision. Row is an experienced printmaker, having created editions with many publishers including Pace Editions, Brand X, Two Palms Press, Tamarind Institute, Echo Press, and Garner Tullis Workshop.

Row exhibits worldwide, and his work is represented in many museum collections, including Ackland Art Museum, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; Hood Museum of Art, Dartmouth College; Carnegie Museum of Art; Cleveland Museum of Art; Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego; Brooklyn Museum; and University of New Mexico Art Museum.

Row currently teaches in the School of Visual Arts New York City. He has taught and lectured widely, at The Cooper Union, Rhode Island School of Design, Pratt Institute, and Fordham University.
