‘The imagery in these works is a continuation of some of the themes I’ve been exploring recently. In both, I’ve cast myself in the role of an archetypal everyman who is seen roaming a sparse landscape, continuing themes of self-discovery, solitude, and loss that have been present in much of my recent work.
My desire to explore the unique possibilities of lithography resulted in the use of color, which was for me, a dramatic shift from the black and white drawing I am used to doing. I had such a strong desire to do something at Tamarind that I couldn’t do myself in the studio, and the addition of color seemed like a natural choice.’
